Baahubali: The Conclusion to release in China on 4 May
MUMBAI: After completing its 100-day theatrical run in Japan, SS Rajamouli’s magnum opus ‘Baahubali: The Conclusion’ will release in China on 4 May. The film will be released by E Star Media, an offshoot of Arka Media works that takes care of international releases.
Directed by SS Rajamouli, the film starring Prabhas, Rana Daggubati, Anushka Shetty and Tamannaah Bhatia was released in India in April 2017. The film narrates the story of two brothers battling for the ownership of an ancient kingdom. It is the prequel of the film Baahubal which was released in 2015.
According to trade reports, Bhaahubali 2 which released in Japan on 29 December 2017 has managed to collect $1.3 million to date.
In last two years, the Indian films have witnessed a great response in the Chinese market. ‘Baahubali: The Beginning’ which released in China in 2016 didn’t do well at the box office as it collected a meagre $0.12 million on the opening day. The film was way behind Aamir Khan’s ‘Dhoom 3’ which collected $3.17 in its opening weekend and PK, which raked a record-breaking collection of $ 5.32 million.
Till date, Aamir Khan’s ‘Secret Superstar’ is the top grosser in China with $6.88million on its opening day, followed by Salman Khan’s ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ which grossed $2.8 million. Aamir Khan’s ‘Dangal’ garnered $2.05million whereas Irrfan Khan starrer film Hindi Medium collected Rs. 22.06 crore on an opening day.
