Amazon Prime Video to premiere Marathi blockbuster ‘Aamhi Doghi’ on 6 April
MUMBAI: Marathi blockbuster ‘Aamhi Doghi’ will make its digital premiere on Amazon Prime Video on 6 April a few weeks after its theatrical release. ‘Aamhi Doghi’ is a feminist drama film starring Mukta Barve and Priya Bapat, directed by Pratima Joshi and produced by Puja Chhabria.
‘Aamhi Doghi’ is a story themed on finding friendship in unexpected situations, and is based on prolific, novelist, short story writer, and poet, Gauri Deshpande’s Book Paus Aala Motha.
Two women, Savitri played by Priya Bapat and Amala played by Mukta Barve who find each other in the midst of living parallel lives, have woven together a story of understanding. Raised in a household without the presence of her mother and a father who is away most of the time, Savitri Sardesai learns to be practical in her approach towards life; but equations change when her father remarries and brings home Savi’s stepmom Amala.
