Amazon Prime Video to premiere exclusive series ‘Chacha Vidhayak Hain Humare’ on 18 May

MUMBAI: Amazon Prime Video’s exclusive series ‘Chacha Vidhayak Hain Humare’ created by Zakir Khan in association with OML is all set to premiere on 18 May. After the success of ‘Haq Se Single’ a Prime Video Exclusive Stand-up Special, popular comedian Zakir Khan has turned creator for the first time.

The show explores the life of the protagonist – Ronny, his complex relationship with truth and the intricate web of lies he builds, based on a false premise – that he is the nephew of a known legislator (Vidhayak).

Zakir Khan, Creator and lead actor of the series, said, “It is heartening to see that comedy is gaining such wide acceptance. After ‘Haq Se Single’, ‘Chacha Vidhayak Hai Humare’ is my humble attempt at making people laugh, by crafting a comedy of errors, on a common theme that most Indians understand and relate to – name dropping and exploiting connections to people in positions of power. The show is a fun look at a serious topic! With a unique plotline, I’m sure that Prime Subscribers from all over the world will not only relate to the show but also find humor in each aspect of Ronny’s life. Personally, I know that the show has been a whole lot of hard work for me, I have given it my best shot!”

The series is about Ronny whose life is based on a lie. To the world, he is the nephew of the local MLA and a youth leader who solves people’s problems. But in reality, Ronny is a jobless 25-year-old with no relation to the MLA who shares his surname.

The show explores Ronny’s adventures as he gets stuck in multiple situations because of this lie. He has two trusted sidekicks, Anwar and Kranti who don’t know the truth either and consider Ronny their leader. Ronny is in love with Avantika but she is too busy obsessing about her ex to notice his feelings.

His family is concerned about his future and is dismayed at his lack of interest in studying or getting a job. His sister who suspects Ronny is lying about something is constantly trying to get him into trouble with their parents. Ronny’s trusted mentor Santosh Bhaiya is the only one who knows the truth and tries to help Ronny.
