ALTBalaji teams up with Habib Faisal for a new web series based on Campa Cola case

MUMBAI: After collaborating with Hansal Mehta and Nagesh Kukunoor, Balaji Telefilms’ ALTBalaji is now working with yet another popular writer-director Habib Faisal for its next offering ‘Home’ based on Campa Cola case.

The Campa Cola case is a legal fight between the residents of Campa Cola Compound and BMC, which contends that buildings in the compound are illegal and must be demolished.

Balaji Telefilms Joint MD Ekta Kapoor took to Twitter to announce the new show. “A show dedicated to India’s heartbeat the middle class of India!!! About a family that discovers if there is anything worth fighting for it is for your Home. Habib Faizal directs this loosely based on true events story about a housing society that due to d builders misdoings might lose their #home!!! V close to my heart cause I feel like calling my Parents after every ep narration! Home is an ode to my parents and all parents!” she tweeted.

Habib Faisal is best known for directing films like Ishaqzaade, Daawat-E-Ishq, and Do Dooni Chaar. He has also written dialogues and screenplay for super hit films like Fan, Ladies v/s Ricky Bahl, and Band Baaja Baarat, amongst others.

Recently, ALTBalaji had launched ‘The Test Case’ created by Nagesh Kukunoor. The platform has also unveiled a new digital series ‘A Family’ with popular Bollywood actor Vivek Oberoi. It is a crime drama series in the backdrop of Mumbai mafia land wherein Oberoi will portray the role of Sharad Juvatkar.

AltBalaji has also collaborated with actors Rajkummar Rao and Nimrat Kaur for launching original shows.

ALTBalaji currently offers 14 original shows in different languages across various genres such as romance, mystery, drama, and comedy. The digital platform also has two regional original shows in its portfolio – Maya Thirrai (the first Tamil original web series) and Dhimaner Dinkaal (the first Bengali original web series). In addition to this, the app also offers entertaining original shows for children and recently launched short, snacky and hilarious regional stand-up comedy videos in Marathi, Punjabi, and Gujarati.

By the end of March 2018, the OTT platform is aiming to offer 150 to 200 hours of original programming. It also plans to launch the second season of ‘Karrle Tu Bhi Mohabbat’ and ‘Dev DD’.
