315 mn viewers tuned in for ICC CWC 2019 in first two weeks

MUMBAI: The first two weeks of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 has seen 315 million viewers tuning into Star Network from across the country, according to BARC (TV + OOH) TG 2+ U+R, excluding DD, Only Match Telecast Hours considered.

The tournament’s television viewership delivered 182.7 million average impressions for the first two weeks.

The opening week of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 had recorded a reach of 269 million reach on the Star network for TG 2+ U+R, Source: BARC (TV + OOH), Only Match Telecast Hours considered.

The inaugural week of the ten-nation tournament had registered 107.2 million average impressions, setting a viewership record in the history of any ICC tournament.

The broadcaster stated that the comparison has been done with Star Channels excluding DD on TV versus TV+OOH of this year.

India’s opening game against South Africa saw 180 million viewers tuning in to watch. The broadcaster stated that regionalisation, high-decibel marketing campaign and special programming deliver strong start.
