After having successful events in Solapur, Indore, Pune, Patna, Agra and Hisar, TelevsionPost.com’s on-ground digital initiative, GroundPost, will make its next stop in Vadodara.
The digital summit will take place on 13 February at Hotel Surya Palace.
Vadodara falls under Phase II of digital addressable system (DAS) and the event will see representatives from other cities in Gujarat, including Surat, Rajkot and Ahmedabad.
The daylong event will see industry experts share their experiences of digitisation in the first two phases. It will also deliberate on the feasibility of voluntary digitisation as well as issues like billing and packaging.
Industry experts will give their insights into a host of issues including carriage, content deals, opportunities, billing, and packaging.
The event will feature a number of speakers from across the state, including GTPL managing director Anirudhsinh Jadeja and COO Shaji Mathews.
The list also includes TRAI deputy advisor GS Kesarwani, IMCL’s NK Rouse, IndiaCast’s Rajib Mukherjee, DEN’s Devendra Naik, GTPL Hathway’s Amit Shah, Gujarat Cable Operators Association (GCOA) president Pramod Pandya, and RCCPL director Nitin Nathwani.
The event is expected to be attended by over 250 delegates, including local cable operators (LCOs), independent multi-system operators (MSOs) and broadcasters.
The event will begin with a presentation by TelevisionPost.com co-founder and CEO Himanshu Dhoreliya, followed by a keynote address by Kesarwani.
Talking about the event, TelevisionPost.com co-founder and CEO Himanshu Dhoreliya said, “Our objective is to get key stakeholders on a single platform to discuss and deliberate on the way forward to monetise cable TV digitisation. We have received outstanding response from the industry in our earlier events and this is for the first time an event of this scale is being organised in Gujarat.”
The event will see sessions on the opportunities that the Gujarat DAS market offers, and the discussions will be based on the state’s potential as a big Phase III digital cable TV market, broadband, and local challenges that the MSOs and LCOs face.
Adding entertainment to the event will be the celebrity participants from Colors’ action reality show ‘Fear Factor: Khataron Ke Khiladi’.
GroundPost’s presenting sponsor is Colors, with Rishtey coming aboard as the powered-by sponsor. The associate partners are GTPL, Cisco, FoodFood and DEN.
