Times Network's English ent channels to woo audiences with special content during Diwali

MUMBAI: Times Network has planned an extensive content line-up around Diwali.

Romedy Now, the hybrid channel dedicated to the human emotions of love and laughter, will premiere ‘Me Before You’ on 14 October at 1 and 9 pm. Viewers can celebrate Diwali by watching a romantic saga of selfless love that stars Emilia Clarke and Sam Clafin.

There is also a Diwali Delights initiative that is running Monday – Friday at 9 pm. Romantic comedies air.

In terms of marketing initiatives to push ‘Me Before You’ the channel noted that everyone has a story to tell. “We are inviting our viewers & fans to share their #MeBeforeYou stories and moments on www.romedynow.com/mebeforeyou – a platform that curates stories of love, laughter & life. The best ones will be handpicked & published across Romedy Now’s social platforms for fans to vote and share. The most shared and engaged stories will win an all expense paid trip to Bali” said Vivek Srivastava.

MNX, the youth targetted English movie channel, will run the Harry Potter Festival. Movies from the franchise will will air every night ar 9 pm from 16 – 23 October.

Movies Now, Times Network’s flagship blockbuster Hollywood movie channel, has alerady started celebrating the festivities of fireworks. It kickstarted the festive season with Firestarters, a line-up of explosive blockbusters, starting 2nd October every weekday night at 11pm.

The pre-Diwali weekend witnesses the Indian Television Premiere of The Magnificent Seven on Sunday, 15 October, 1pm and 9pm. A remake of Akira Kurusawa’s classic, this western stars Chris Pratt, Denzel Washington and Ethan Hawke and will be simulcast on MN+ & MNX.

During the Diwali week (16– 22Oct), we will air a different mega-blockbuster every night in Flash N Flare. This Diwali special property will feature the most scorching, sizzling and action-packed movies, in the crucial primetime slot of 9pm

“We end the month with our Supermovie (the movie of the month) Jurassic World on 29th October, Sunday at 9 pm. The latest edition from the Jurassic franchise, this action-blockbuster is the 4th highest grossing Hollywood film EVER and stars Chris Pratt, Irrfan Khan and Bryce Dallas Howard,” said Times Network senior VP, head entertainment cluster Vivek Srivastava.

MN+, the premium Engliosh movie channel, has no Diwali special properties airing it has some initiatives lined up.

“Our breakout festival Pathbreakers (Mon-Thu 9pm) continues into its 2nd season with 50 different movies airing across 50 nights. With this festival, MN+ presents a lineup of movies which defined cinema, broke stereotypes and pioneered change, influencing moviemakers and cinemagoers for decades to come,” said Srivastava.
