ZEEL appoints Bharat Kedia as CFO; Mihir Modi to move to new role

MUMBAI: Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd (ZEEL) has appointed Bharat Kedia as chief financial officer (CFO) of the company, in place of Mihir Modi, with effect from 1 August.

Modi will move to a new role in the company. As reported earlier by TelevisionPost.com, Modi will manage the company’s new venture investments and incubation.

ZEEL recently acquired 80% stake in tech start-up Margo Networks for Rs 75 crore and a 12.5% equity in Bangalore-based Tagos Design Innovations, an in-video discovery platform, for Rs 16.15 crore. Modi will be on the board of these start-up companies and guide them in scaling up their businesses.

Kedia, a chartered accountant and company secretary, is a professional with an experience of over two decades. He has experience in finance, fund raising, M&A, information technology and corporate strategy in diverse businesses across Europe, Russia and India. He has worked in varied roles with companies like Publicis Groupe India, Coca-Cola Europe, United Beverages and Kansai Nerolac Paints.

Before joining ZEEL, Kedia was associated as CFO of Parag Milk Foods Ltd, Mumbai, a dairy-based FMCG. Kedia, who has spoken at various seminars organised by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, was conferred the ‘CFO 100’ award in 2015–16.
