Zee TV tops Hindi GEC U+R chart in Week 27

MUMBAI: Zee TV took a massive leap on the Hindi GEC chart by grabbing the top rank in urban + rural Hind-speaking market (HSM), according to BARC data for the week ended 7 July.

Zee TV, which was at the fifth position last week, jumped to the top rank with 63.47 crore weekly impressions, a growth by 14.13%.

Zee TV’s popular singing reality show ‘Amul Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Little Champ’ is in its last leg, which can be one of the reasons behind the increased impressions. Also, the channel has started airing one-hour special of its popular show ‘Kumkum Bhagya’, which might have further boosted the ratings.

While Zee TV led the chart, Star Plus dropped to the third place with 60.59 crore weekly impressions.

FTA channel Rishtey bagged the second spot with 60.80 crore weekly impressions, a growth of 4.24% compared to the earlier week.

On the other hand, Zee Anmol at the fourth position witnessed a decline of 4.83% with 56.28 crore weekly impressions. Sony Pal grabbed the fifth place with a growth 2.93% on its 54.64 crore weekly impressions.

Colors not only witnessed a drop in its impressions but also slipped to the sixth position from its previous fourth ranking. With 52.92 crore weekly impressions, the channel faced a drop of 4.96%.

Sony SAB stayed at the seventh place, but its impressions dropped by 4.33%, registering 40.17 crore weekly impressions.

SET, Life OK and Star Utsav maintained their eighth, ninth and tenth ranks on the chart.


Top 5 shows in U+R HSM

Zee TV’s two shows, ‘Kumkum Bhagya’ and ‘Amul Sa Re Ga Ma Pa little Champs’, grabbed the first and second spots on the urban + rural charts. Rishtey’s ‘Naagin 2’ moved up to the third spot.

The recently launched ‘Dance Plus Season 3’ entered the chart at the fourth position while Colors’ ‘Chandrakanta’ went out of the list.

Sony SAB’s ‘Tarak Mehta Ka Ooltha Chashma’ replaced DD National’s ODI between India and the West Indies for the fifth place.


Top Hindi GECs in Rural HSM

Moving up a stair, Rishtey grabbed the top place on the rural HSM chart in Week 27 with 44.99 crore weekly impressions. The channel saw a growth of 4.12% from its previous week.

Zee Anmol dropped to the second place with 44.61 crore weekly impressions, a drop of 5.15%. The rest of the pecking order remained same.


Top 5 shows in Rural HSM

Rishtey with ‘Naagin 2’ maintained the lead, followed by Zee Anmol’s ‘Jamai Raja’ and ‘Tashan-e-Ishq’, which moved up to the second and third ranks, respectively.

Zee TV’s ‘Kumkum Bhagya’ entered the chart at the fourth position while Sony Pal’s ‘Balveer’ got mentioned at No. 5.


Top Hindi GECs in Urban HSM

Zee TV moved up a stair, according to BARC data for the week ended 7 July in urban HSM.

The impressions of Zee TV increased by 9.56% with 37.31 crore weekly impressions, which helped the channel to grab the second spot.

Star Plus maintained its lead with 41.47 crore weekly impressions, a growth of 1.34%.

Colors dropped to the third spot with 35.05 crore weekly impressions, a decline of 6.89%.

Rishtey with 15.810 crore weekly impressions climbed up to the seventh spot, as Sony Pal with 15.48 crore weekly impressions dropped to eighth. The rest of the order remained unchanged.


Top 5 shows in Urban HSM

Zee TV’s two shows ‘Kumkum Bhagya’ and ‘Amul Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Little Champs’ led the urban chart by securing the first and second positions respectively.

‘Dance Plus 3’ entered the chart at the fifth place, while Colors’ ‘Chandrakanta’ went out of the list. The rest of the chart remained unchanged.
