Zee TV ropes in sponsors for ‘Sa Re Ga Ma Pa L’il Champs’
MUMBAI: Hindi GEC Zee TV has roped in three main sponsors for the sixth season of its popular singing reality show ‘Sa Re Ga Ma Pa L’il Champs’. There are also other advertisers for the show.
The channel has got on board Amul as the title sponsor, with Airtel Payments Bank as the co-powered-by sponsor and T1 Prime Truck Racing as the racing partner.
‘Sa Re Ga Ma Pa L’il Champs’ will air from 25 February, every Sat and Sun, at 9 pm.
“The show already has three main sponsors. Other associate sponsors have also come on board for the sixth season. ‘Sa Re Ga Ma Pa’ is an established property, which is why it has received positive response from the advertisers despite demonetisation. This year, the show also has got some new sponsors along with the earlier associations,” the source stated.
In its sixth edition, ‘Sa Re Ga Ma Pa L’il Champs’ will be based on the ‘back to school’ format, where L’il Champs will represent their schools. The kids will be mentored by music Himesh Reshammiya, Javed Ali and Neha Kakkar.
For the first time, the show will have a panel of 30 jury members who are experts from the music fraternity. They will closely assess the talent from the audition stage and help the mentors in the selection process.
Singer-actor Aditya Narayan will return as host of the sixth edition. This season will showcase contestants from different gharanas, genres, backgrounds and aspirations.
Zee TV deputy business head Deepak Rajadhyaksha said, “Having wrapped up our top-rated weekend thriller ‘Brahmarakshas: Jaag Utha Shaitan’, we now present ‘Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Li’l Champs’, the children’s edition of Zee TV’s iconic franchise, ‘Sa Re Ga Ma Pa’. The last season of ‘Sa Re Ga Ma Pa’ broke all records of 2016 on television, delivering the highest ratings for a non-fiction episode. The sixth season of ‘Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Li’l Champs’ has on board Himesh Reshammiya, Javed Ali and Neha Kakkar as mentors for the kids. Not only are they extremely warm, affable and great with kids, but they also have the ability to step in as role models and guiding forces for their growth as singers. We have enlisted the support of 30 experts from the music fraternity, who will aid the selection process right from the outset. We are pleased to partner Essel Vision Productions in presenting the new season.”
The auditions for the sixth edition spanned 27 cities including Bhubaneshwar, Guwahati, Patna, Lucknow, Chandigarh, Nagpur, Dehradun, Ahmedabad, Jaipur, Kolkata, Indore, Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore.
