Zee TV returns to No. 3 in U+R HSM; Zee Anmol regains top spot in rural HSM
MUMBAI: Zee TV moved to the third position in the urban + rural Hindi-speaking market (HSM) in the week ended 18 November.
Meanwhile, Star Plus, which ceded the top position to Colors, closed the gap with its closest competitor.
Colors continued to be the top channel for the fifth week in a row.
As per BARC ratings for Week 46, Sony Pal, which was at the third position the previous week, saw its ranking slip to the fifth. Zee Anmol took the fourth position.
SAB TV moved up the ladder to the eighth position from the previous week’s 10th position.
Star Utsav and Sony Entertainment Television (SET) swapped positions. Rishtey slid to the tenth position.
Top shows in Urban+Rural HSM
SET’s dance reality show ‘Super Dancer’ entered the list of the top 5 shows for the first time since launch.
‘Saath Nibhaana Saathiya’ on Star Plus re-entered the top 5.
‘Naagin 1’ and ‘Udaan’ exited the list. It was status quo as far as the top 3 shows go.
Top Hindi GECs in Rural HSM
Zee Anmol regained the No. 1 position from Sony Pal in the rural HSM.
Big Magic jumped to the eighth position. Life OK slipped to the 10th position while SET moved to the ninth position.
Top Hindi shows in Rural HSM
There was no change in the rural top 5 programmes. ‘Naagin’ was the top-rated show.
Top Hindi GECs in Urban HSM
The pecking order in urban HSM remained unchanged. Colors, Star Plus, Zee TV and SAB TV saw growth in weekly impressions. Despite seeing a slight drop in viewership, SET held on to its third position.
Top Hindi shows in Urban HSM
SET’s ‘Super Dancer’ was the new entrant to the list of the top 5 shows. The channel had two shows in the list, including ‘The Kapil Sharma Show’. Clearly, non-fiction is doing well for the channel.
Colors’ ‘Udaan’ exited the top 5. The channel had top two shows, namely ‘Naagin 2’ and ‘Shakti’.
