Zee Tamizh unveils Diwali line-up
MUMBAI: Tamil general entertainment channel Zee Tamizh has unveiled its line-up of special programmes for the occasion of Diwali. The channel has scheduled a range of programmes and movies on 22 October.
Diwali will commence with a devotional programme by Carnatic musician Nithyashree Mahadevan at 6 am on 22 October.
This will be followed by a debate show from 8:30 to 10:00 am called ‘Sirappu Pattimandram’, moderated by well-known orator Avani Madasamy .This show will showcase the importance of youngsters and seniors in family life.
There will be a ‘Diwali Dhamaka’ at 10 am with a fun-filled show starring the leading fiction artists from shows like ‘Oru Kai Osai’, ‘Nenjathai Killathey’, ‘Gayatri’, ‘Sivaragasiyam’ and ‘Uyirmei’ on the channel. They will entertain the viewers with a variety of performances.
Following this, viewers will be treated to a special movie at 11 am titled ‘Yaamirukka Bayame’. The horror comedy revolves around four eccentric characters and their hilarious attempts to run a guesthouse at a haunted mansion.
In afternoon specials, the channel will showcase the romantic movie ‘Ithu Kathirvelan Kadhal’ directed by SR Prabakaran.
The channel will premiere the movie ‘Manjapai’ at 5 pm, which showcases Venkatasamy, a helpful villager who comes to the city to spend time with his grandson Tamizh, an IT professional whose dream is to settle in the US. Venkatasamy’s straight talk and rural practices initially earn him the enmity of Tamizh’s neighbours and girlfriend, Karthika (Lakshmi Menon). Eventually, things begin to change and he begins to win hearts.
The day will culminate with ‘Jai Hind 2’ at 8 pm, a special fun chat with the artists of the upcoming movie ‘Jai Hind 2’.
