Worldwide Media’s series ‘Nexa Journeys on Asian Highway 1’ to air on Discovery
MUMBAI: Foraying into television content, lifestyle and entertainment company Worldwide Media (WWM) has launched a new travel and adventure series ‘Nexa Journeys on Asian Highway 1’, in partnership with Maruti Suzuki Nexa.
The show will be aired on Discovery Network in early March.
The property will be supported by marketing partners Lonely Planet Magazine India and Top Gear Magazine India.
The road show will explore less-travelled Asian Highway 1 (AH1) that connects New Delhi to Bangkok via Myanmar. The cross-country road trip will begin with 10 participants travelling across 4,325 km experiencing the different and diverse cultures the nations have to offer.

The show has five chosen travellers from various fields of occupation like acting, cooking, photography, singing and writing. The celebrities within these fields were chosen based on their passion. Entries were then invited from across India to select five interesting personalities who will accompany the five celebrities through this journey.
Commenting on the initiative, Maruti Suzuki India AVP of marketing Vinay Pant said, “Nexa is established around the new-age Indian consumer who values pampering services, innovative technology and a global approach in their everyday life. Nexa marks the first initiative by an automobile company to go beyond selling cars and create a new format of retail experience for the customer. ‘Nexa Journeys on AH1’ by S-Cross aims to provide a new exclusive experience of cross-border traveling on astounding routes. This journey is going to be both, exciting and inspiring.”
The 10 shortlisted people will commence their journey from Delhi travelling through UP to Varanasi, exploring the culture the oldest city has to offer. The journey will continue as they cross Jorhat in Assam, followed by Majuli in the Brahmaputra, Kohima in Nagaland and Manipur to witness the border town of Moreh, located on the India–Myanmar border in the Chandel district.
As the borders of India are crossed, they move to Bagan in Myanmar known for the Bagan archaeological area, where more than 2,000 Buddhist monuments tower over the pristine green plains. In the final leg of the trip, the 10 chosen ones will begin from Myanmar to Bangkok in Thailand, which marks the completion of this journey.
