Vh1 to exclusively air 2017 Billboard Music Awards on 22 May

MUMBAI: English Entertainment channel Vh1 India will air the prestigious 2017 Billboard Music Awards on 22 May at 6.30 am, with a prime time repeat at 9 pm.

The Billboard Music Award is an honour given by Billboard, a publication and music popularity chart, covering the music business. This year, the awards night will witness performances by some of the renowned musicians such as Ed Sheeran, Imagine Dragons, Bruno Mars and John legend. Celebrating the 20th anniversary of the film Titanic, the bestselling Canadian songstress Celine Dion will take a trip down memory lane with her classic hit ‘My Heart Will Go On’.

Esteemed award shows like the Billboard Awards help generate awareness about international trends and bring our viewers closer to their favourite international artists. We are extremely elated to exclusively telecast the prestigious Billboard Awards yet again.”

In the award category, popular hitmakers Drake and The Chainsmokers lead the nomination pack with 22 nods. Among these, Drake is competing for Top Artist, Top Male Artist and Top Billboard 200 Artist awards.

The Chainsmokers are also vying for Top Artist, as well as Top Duo/Group and Top 100 Artist. Twenty One Pilots follow with 17 nominations, and Rihanna with 14. While the The Weeknd is competing in 13 categories and Queen Bey Beyonce is hoping for honours in eight categories.

The evening will be hosted by Rapper Ludacris and Vanessa Hudgens.

Earlier, Vh1 India has exclusively aired awards shows such as Golden Globe Awards, The American Music Awards, The Annual Grammy Awards, Video Music Awards, Brit Awards, MTV Movie & TV Awards and Europe Music Awards.
