TVP analyses slot-wise performance of Hindi GEC shows

MUMBAI: TelevisionPost.com presents you with an analysis of the different programming slots of Hindi general entertainment channels (GECs) as per TAM data (sourced from subscribers) for the Hindi-speaking markets.

Fiction shows

Mon–Fri 6 pm: The original airing of ‘Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon’ on Star Plus ran an average of 2.4 million. It had been 2.7 million last week.

Mon–Fri 6:30 pm: The original airing of ‘Ek Ghar Banaunga’ on Star Plus ran an average of 3.6 million.

Mon–Fri 7 pm: Slot leader ‘Saathiya’ (on Star Plus) saw a drop to average 9.8 million (9.9 million last week). Zee TV’s ‘Ek Mutthi Aasmaan’ remained stable at 3.2 million, while Colors’ ‘Sanskaar’ ran an average of 1.7 million.

Mon–Fri 7:30 pm: Zee TV’s ‘Sapne Suhane Ladakpan Kay’ increased to 6 million from 5.3 million last week. Colors’ ‘Sasural Simar Ka’ dropped to 5.4 million from 5.9 million in the previous week, while Star Plus’ ‘Saraswatichandra’ dropped to average 4.9 million (5.5 million last week).

Mon–Fri 8 pm: Zee TV’s ‘Jodha Akbar’ saw a drop but managed to maintain its slot leadership with an average viewership of 10.3 million (10.8 last week). Colors’ ‘Balika Vadhu’ dropped and averaged at 6.0 million (6.4 million last week). Star Plus’s ‘Meri Bhabhi’ averaged at 4.6 million from 5.4 million in the previous week. SET’s ‘Main Na Bhulungi’ ran an average of 1.4 million (1.2 million last week), Life OK’s ‘Mahadev’ put up an average of 2.6 million (2.8 million last week). SAB’s ‘Baal Veer’ averaged at 2.5 million (2.7 million last week).

Mon–Fri 8:30 pm: Although ‘Tarak Mehta’ dropped to an average of 6.8 million from 8.1 million last week, it continued to be the slot leader. Zee TV’s ‘Do Dil Bandhe Ek Dori Se’ increased the average to 6.3 million from 5.8 million in the previous week, while ‘Mahabharata’ on Star Plus dropped to 5.9 million from last week’s 6.9 million. Colors’ ‘Madhubala’ dropped to 3.4 million from 3.8 million last week. SET’s ‘Ek Nayi Pehchan’ averaged at 1.9 million (2.1 million in the preceding week).

Mon–Fri 9:00 pm: Star Plus’ ‘Diya Aur Baati Hum’ dropped to an average of 10.9 million from 12.6 million, but comfortably maintained its slot leadership. Zee TV’s ‘Pavitra Rishta’ dropped to average 4.9 million (5.4 million last week) while ‘Beintehaan’ (Colors) dropped to 3.5 million (3.9 million last week). ‘Chidiya Ghar’ on SAB averaged at 3.2 million (3.8 million last week). ‘Desh Ki Beti Nandini’ on SET remained at an average of 1.4 million.

Mon–Fri 9:30 pm: Star Plus’ ‘Yeh Rishta’ dropped to 7.9 million from 8.5 million, yet maintained its slot leadership. Zee TV’s ‘Qubool Hai’ dropped to an average of 5.6 million from 5.7 million in the previous week. Colors’ ‘Rangrasiya’ dropped to 3.2 million (3.3 million last week). Life Ok’s ‘Tumhari Pakhi’ averaged at 3.0 million from 2.8 million in the previous week. ‘Jeanie Aur Juju’ on SAB TV maintained its last week average of 2.2 million while SET’s ‘Jee Le Zara’ also remained at 1.7 million, same as last week.

Mon–Fri 10 pm: ‘Pyar Ka Dard Hai’ (Star Plus), the slot leader, dropped to average 6.1 million (6.9). Zee TV’s Aur Pyar Ho Gaya has increased and averages at 5.3 million (4.5). Uttaran’s (Colors) viewership averages at 3.8 million (3.3). Sony’s Maharana Pratap has dropped and averages 3.3 million (3.4) while Lapataganj on SAB averages 2.1 million (2.2). Life Ok’s Kaisa Yeh Ishq Hai averages 1.7 million (2.0).

Mon–Fri 10:30 pm: ‘Veera’ on Star Plus dropped to 5.7 million from last week’s 6.3 million, but held on to its slot leadership position. ‘Bani’ (Colors) averaged at 3.9 million (3.7 million last week) while Zee TV’s ‘Doli Armano Ki’ increased to an average of 3.5 million from 3.3 million in the previous week. SET’s ‘Bade Acchhe Lagte Hain’ averaged at 1.9 million (2.1 million last week) and ‘FIR’ on SAB averaged at 1.9 million (2.0 million last week).

Weekend shows

Colors: ‘India’s Got Talent’ (Sat–Sun 9 pm) ran an average of 6.6 million in the week (6.7 million last week), while ‘Comedy Nights with Kapil’ (Sun–Sat 10 pm) averaged at 8.4 million (9.6 million in the previous week).

SET: ‘Boogie Woogie’ (Sat–Sun 8:30 pm) ran an average of 2.3 million (1.9 million last week), ‘CID’ (Fri–Sat 10 pm) 4.5 million (4.6 million last week), ‘Crime Patrol’ (Sat–Sun 11 pm) 3.7 million (3.7 million last week), ‘Adaalat’ (Sat–Sun 7:30 pm) 2.9 million (3.4 million last week), ‘Comedy Circus Ke Mahabali’ 1.8 million and ‘Bhoot Aaya’ (Sun 11 pm) 1.6 million.

Zee TV: Fear Files (Sat–Sun 10:30 pm) put up an average of 4 million, while ‘Buddha’ (Sun 11:30 am) remained at an average of 0.8 million.

Star Plus: ‘Mad In India’ (Sun 9 pm) ran an average of 3.2 million, ‘Arjun’ (Sunday 8 pm) 1.3 million and ‘Ishq Kills’ (Sun 10 pm) 1.2 million.
