Star World Premiere HD to launch 24 shows starting 23 Sep

MUMBAI: Star World Premiere HD is all set to showcase 24 popular international television series starting 23 September.

The channel, in its second year, will showcase the content within hours of its original airing along with a host of value-additions customised for the viewer.

Star India English portfolio business head Kevin Vaz said, “Starting off on an extremely positive note last September, the channel has built a significant premium subscriber base, despite being a pure a la carte HD-only offering. With an all-new show line-up this year, we are confident that additional premium consumers will begin subscribing to Star World Premiere HD to enjoy the latest and best of international entertainment.”

The channel’s upcoming show calendar includes Shonda Rhimes’ ‘How to Get Away with Murder’ and rom-com series ‘Manhattan Love Story’ along with popular returning shows like ‘Castle’, ‘The Blacklist’, ‘Homeland’, ‘Modern Family’ and ‘Two and a Half Men’.

In a celebratory special, the channel will air weekend marathons of shows like ‘Homeland’, ‘Two and a Half Men’ and ‘The Blacklist’, giving viewers a chance to catch up on the previous seasons of their favourite shows before the new seasons start from 23 September.

Star India English GECs business head Yogesh Manwani added, “India is witnessing a surge in the premium millennial consumer segment, who want the latest, the best and the most popular of everything including entertainment. Star World Premiere HD caters to this consumer segment that is willing to pay a premium for an exclusive product and service. Since its launch, the subscriber base for Star World Premiere HD has been growing steadily and with a line-up of 24 of the latest, most popular and anticipated shows this fall season, we are looking forward to an accelerated subscriber growth.”

The subscription-only channel is available on DTH and cable operators including Tata Sky, Airtel Digital TV, Dish TV, Videocon d2h, Hathway Digital, 7 Star and more. Its key shows are also available on Tata Sky Free Catch Up service and Airtel On Demand service.
