Star Plus tops; Hindi GEC viewership drops in Week 18
MUMBAI: Star Plus continued to top the Hindi GEC leader board with 63.23 crore weekly impressions in the urban + rural Hindi-speaking market (HSM), as per Week 18 data shared by BARC.
After witnessing a miniscule growth in viewership last week, Star Plus’ ratings plummeted this week by 1.25%.
In contrast, witnessing a 2.48% growth in viewership, Sony Pal maintained its second position with 59.13 crore weekly impressions.
Colors, which stayed at No. 3 with 52.97 crore weekly impressions, saw a 4.43% drop. It was followed by Zee TV, whose ratings fell by 7.39%.
While Rishtey and Zee Anmol maintained their respective fifth and sixth positions, Star Utsav climbed up to the seventh spot and Sony SAB dropped to the eighth rank. Life OK and SET remained at the ninth and tenth positions, respectively.
Top 5 shows in U+R HSM
Zee TV’s ‘KumKum Bhagya’ kept its top position with 10.81 million weekly impressions, even as Colors’ long-reigning supernatural thriller ‘Naagin 2’ slipped to the second position in urban + rural markets.
Two Star Plus shows, ‘Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai’, grabbed the third spot, while ‘Yeh Hai Mohabattein’ entered the chart at No. 5.
Zee TV’s ‘Amul Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Little Champs’ dropped to the fourth spot, whereas Sony Sab’s ‘Tarak Mehta Ka Ooltha Chashmah’ went out of the chart.
Top Hindi GECs in Urban HSM
Star Plus and Colors upheld their first and second ranks with 43.06 crore and 36.14 crore weekly impressions respectively.
&TV moved up to the ninth position while Star Utsav dropped to the 10th spot. The rest of the order remained unchanged, according to BARC data for the week ended 5 May.
Top 5 shows in Urban HSM
Colors’ ‘Naagin’ regained its top position while Zee TV’s ‘KumKum Bhagya’ fell to the second rank.
Star Plus’ ‘Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai’ remained at the third spot, followed Zee TV’s ‘Amul Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Little Champs’ and Colors’ ‘Shakti’ in that order.
Top Hindi GECs in Rural HSM
Sony Pal ruled the charts with 44.75 crore weekly impressions in rural HSM, followed by Rishtey with 36.55 crore weekly impressions and Zee Anmol with 34.14 crore weekly impressions. The only change occurred at the bottom of the chart as Big Magic moved up to the ninth position and Life OK dropped to the 10th.
Top 5 shows in Rural HSM
Sony Pal’s two shows ‘Baalveer’ and ‘Tarak Mehta Ka Ooltha Chashmah’ grabbed the first and second spots respectively, followed by Zee Anmol’s ‘Jamai Raja’ at No. 3 and ‘Tashan E Ishq’ at No. 4.
Zee TV’s ‘KumKum Bhagya’ entered the chart as Colors’ ‘Naagin’, which was aired on Rishtey, exited the chart.
