Star Plus retains top spot in Week 10
MUMBAI: For the third consecutive week, Star Plus secured the top spot on the Hindi GEC ladder with 75.61 crore weekly impressions in the urban + rural Hindi-speaking market (HSM).
According to BARC India data for the week ended 10 March, Star Plus saw a minuscule drop of 3.5% in its impressions.
Colors remained at the second spot with 63.70 crore weekly impressions. The gap between Star Plus and Colors has narrowed.
Sony Pal maintained its third rank, followed by Zee TV.
Top 5 shows in U+R HSM
Zee TV’s ‘Kumkum Bhagya’ led the chart, while Colors’ ‘Naagin 2’ dropped to the second rank. Meanwhile, Star Plus’ ‘Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai’ jumped to the third spot.
The chart witnessed the return of two shows, with SAB’s ‘Tarak Mehta Ka Ooltha Chashmah’ acquiring the fourth spot and Star Plus’ ‘Saath Nibhaana Saathiya’ the fifth. Zee TV’s ‘Amul Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Li’l Champs 2017’ and Rishtey’s ‘Naagin 2’ exited the chart.
Top Hindi GECs in urban HSM
Star Plus and Colors maintained their first and second ranks respectively. Compared to the earlier week, Zee TV dropped to the fifth position as SET took the third spot. SAB secured the fourth rank. Zee Anmol went out of the chart, vacating the 10th spot for Star Utsav. The hierarchy otherwise remained unaltered.
Top 5 shows in urban HSM
‘Naagin 2’ ruled the list of the top 5 shows in urban HSM. Zee TV’s ‘Kumkum Bhagya’ grabbed the second spot while Star Plus’ ‘Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai’ dropped to the fourth spot.
SAB’s ‘Tarak Mehta Ka Oolta Chashma’ became the third most-watched show on the list. Colors’ ‘Shani’ got replaced by another show of the channel, ‘Shakti’, on the fifth spot.
Top Hindi GECs in rural HSM
SAB entered the chart in rural HSM, securing the eighth rank. Life Ok dropped to the ninth position while SET exited the top 5 list.
The positions of other Hindi GECs in the rural market remained the same with Sony Pal ruling the chart.

Rishtey’s ‘Naagin 2’ went out of the list, after a long time. Sony Pal’s ‘Baalveer’ grabbed the top spot, followed by Star Utsav’s ‘Saath Nibhaana Saathiya’.
Zee Anmol’s ‘Afsar Bitiya’ moved up to the third spot and Zee TV’s ‘Kumkum Bhagya’ grabbed the fourth rank. ‘Tarak Mehta Ka Ooltha Chashmah’ on Sony Pal entered the list at the fifth position.
