Star Plus reclaims top spot in Week 28

MUMBAI: After slipping to the third position the previous week, Hindi GEC Star Plus reclaimed the Hindi GEC throne from Zee TV in the week ended 14 July, according to BARC data in the urban + rural Hindi-speaking market (HSM).

Star Plus registered 62.91 crore weekly impressions, marking a growth of 3.82%.

Zee TV dropped to the second place as impressions declined by 1.74% to 62.36 crore.

Rishtey slipped to the third sport with 54.57 crore weekly impressions, a massive drop of 10.23%.

Zee Anmol stayed at the fourth place but saw a drop of 3.22%, registering 54.46 crore weekly impressions. Sony Pal followed at the fifth spot with 52.87 crore weekly impressions, whereas Colors stayed at No. 6 with 51.30 crore weekly impressions.

The rest of the order remained unchanged in Week 28.


Top 5 shows in U+R HSM

Zee TV’s ‘Amul Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Little Champs’ maintained its top spot, followed by ‘KumKum Bhagya’ at No. 2. The Finolex Pipes Cup 2017 T20 match between India and the West Indies on DD National grabbed the third spot as Rishtey’s ‘Naagin 2’ slipped to the fifth position.

Zee TV’s newly launched show ‘Kundali Bhagya’, a spinoff of ‘Kumkum Bhagya’, entered the chart at No. 4 while Star Plus’ ‘Dance Plus 3’ and Sony Sab’s ‘Tarak Mehta Ka Ooltha Chashma’ went out of the list.


Top Hindi GECs in Rural HSM

Zee Anmol got back to the top in the rural HSM with 42.61 crore weekly impressions despite witnessing a drop of 4.48%.

Rishtey, which saw a drop of 9.74%, slipped to the second place. The channel registered 40.61 crore weekly impressions.

DD National exited the chart as Life Ok entered at the ninth spot with 12.72 crore weekly impressions. The rest of the chart remained unchanged.


Top 5 shows in rural HSM

‘Naagin 2’ on Rishtey grabbed the top spot, followed by the Finolex Pipes Cup 2017 T20 match between India and the West Indies on DD National.

Zee Anmol’s ‘Jamai Raja’ fell to the third position while Zee TV’s ‘Kumkum Bhagya’ maintained its position at No 4.

Meanwhile, Zee Anmol’s ‘Tashan-E-Ishq’ went out of the list, and Sony Pal’s ‘Tarak Mehta Ka Ooltha Chashma’ replaced its other show ‘Balveer’.


Top Hindi GECs in Urban HSM

Star Plus maintained its lead in the urban HSM market with 42.92 crore weekly impressions, a growth of 3.49 % over the previous week.

Zee TV, with 36.96 crore weekly impressions, stayed at the second spot. It was followed by Colors with 34.48 crore weekly impressions.

&TV moved up to the seventh position with 15.21 crore weekly impressions while Rishtey dropped to the ninth spot with 13.96 crore weekly impressions. The rest of the chart remained unchanged.


Top 5 shows in Urban HSM

Zee TV’s ‘Amul Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Lil Champs’ maintained its lead on the list. It was followed by ‘Kumkum Bhagya’ and Sony Sab’s ‘Tarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashma’ at the second and third spots respectively.

Star Plus’ ‘Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai’ slipped to the fifth position as Zee TV’s ‘Kundali Bhagya’ entered the chart at No. 4. Colors’ ‘Chandrakanta’ went out of the toppers’ list.
