Star Plus reclaims top spot in U+R HSM; Zee Anmol tops rural chart

MUMBAI: Hindi GEC Star Plus reclaimed the top spot from Sony Pal in urban + rural Hind-speaking market (HSM).

Star Plus registered 59.37 crore impressions in the week ended 23 June, up 1.6% from the previous week.

With 56.05 crore weekly impressions and a fall of 5.13%, Sony Pal dropped to the third position.

Zee Anmol jumped two levels up to grab the second spot with 58.03 crore weekly impressions, according to BARC India data for Week 25. The channel saw a growth of 9.24% compared to the previous week.

Rishtey dropped to the fourth place as it saw a 4.85% decline, registering 54.60 crore weekly impressions.

After a few weeks, Colors saw some growth in its viewership. The channel jumped to the fifth rank with 49.66 crore weekly impressions, a growth of 14.58%.

Zee TV moved one place down to the sixth spot with 47.92 crore weekly impressions. Though the channel lost its spot, its impressions grew by 2.1%.

Sony Sab followed Zee at the seventh spot, followed by DD National, SET and Life OK in that order.


Top 5 shows in U+R HSM

DD National occupied the top spot on the back of the ICC Champions Trophy final between India and Pakistan.

Zee TV’s ‘KumKum Bhagya’ moved up to the second spot, followed by its ‘Amul Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Little Champs’.

Colors’ ‘Naagin 2’ stayed at the fourth position, while Star Plus’ ‘Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai’ entered the top 5.


Top Hindi GECs in Rural HSM

Zee Anmol dethroned Sony Pal with 46.05 crore weekly impressions, a growth of 12.05%. Sony Pal slipped to the third spot with 40.57 crore weekly impressions, suffering a fall of 5.91%.

Rishtey stayed at the second spot with 41.62 crore weekly impressions. The rest of the order remained unchanged.


Top 5 shows in Rural HSM

The ICC Champions Trophy final between India and Pakistan on DD National grabbed the top spot.

Zee Anmol’s ‘Jamai Raja’ moved up to second position, while ‘Tashan-e-Ishq’ entered the chart at No. 5.

Rishtey’s ‘Naagin 2’ jumped to the third spot, followed by Sony Pal’s ‘Balveer’ at No. 4.


Top Hindi GECs in Urban HSM

Star Plus maintained its lead in the urban HSM market with 40.03 crore weekly impressions, a growth of 3.18 % over the previous week.

Colors climbed to the second position with 33.28 crore weekly impressions, whereas Sony Sab dropped to the third place, followed by Zee TV at No. 4. The rest of the pecking order remained unchanged.


Top 5 shows in Urban HSM

The ICC Champions Trophy final on DD National maintained its lead in the urban HSM as well.

Sony Sab’s ‘Tarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashma’ jumped to the second spot, followed by Zee TV’s ‘Amul Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Lil Champs’ at No. 3.

‘Kumkum Bhagya’ slipped to the fifth spot. Star Plus’ ‘Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai’ dropped to the fourth spot.
