SRK, Madhvan to perform at Aaj Tak’s New Year special

MUMBAI: Hindi news channel Aaj Tak is set to welcome the New Year with a three-hour special entertainment show, ‘Happy New Year’, on 31 December.

220px-Shahrukh_Khan_CEBollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan will be the key highlight of the show. The evening will also see the congregation of 30 entertainers including five singers, two item girls, 14 TV stars, five film stars and three comedy stars.

Among other Bollywood stars, actor R Madhavan and director Raj Kumar Hirani will be showing their sporty side on the show. Film actors Pulki Samrat and Yami Gautam will also perform on a romantic number.

While singer Sukwinder Singh will belt out his high-volume numbers like ‘Chaiyya Chaiya’, ‘Darde Disco’ and ‘Gajanana’ from the recently released movie ‘Bajirao Mastani’, Himesh Reshammiya will go full throttle with his live performance of songs like ‘Jumme Ki Raat’ and ‘Jhalak Dikhla Jaa’.

‘Aashiqui 2’ singer Ankit Tiwari will also croon his romantic numbers to a 200-plus live audience.

R MadhavanAdditionally, item girls Rakhi Sawant will perform Punjabi fusion dance moves and Sambhavna Seth will go desi with the popular item songs of the year. Besides, Shantanu Maheshwari, the winner of international dance show ‘World of Dance’, will perform with his winning troupe.

Viewers will also get to watch nine television bahus from popular TV serials showing their dancing talent along with host Pooja Kanwal.

TV stars like Rushika Mehta, Digangna Suryavanshi, Tina Dutta, Jasveer Kaur, Tanya Sharma, Lovey Sasan, Smriti Khanna, Shristi Rodey and Vidhya Tiwari, along with ‘DID Super Mom’ Harpreet, will show the best dance moves on the New Year’s eve.

Shweta Singh from Aaj Tak will be anchoring the event with celeb anchor Pooja Kanwal.
