Sony to replace ‘Ekk Nayi Pehchhan’ with ‘Itti si Khushi’
MUMBAI: Continuing with its steady programming overhaul, Hindi general entertainment channel Sony Entertainment Television (SET) is launching another fiction show ‘Itti si Khushi’ to replace ‘Ekk Nayi Pehchhan’.
‘Itti si Khushi’ will premiere on 29 September and air at 8 pm from Monday to Thursday. It will revisit the innocence of being a child and will take audiences on a nostalgic trip through the story of a girl who has missed 12 years of her life.
SET creative director fiction programming Virendra Shahaney said, “Itti Si Khushi portrays different shades of life than the usual stories we have seen on television. It showcases the story of a young girl whose innocence is her strength. Sony Entertainment Television has always strived to bring unique content to its audience, this show is another step in that direction. We are sure the show will not only strike an emotional chord with the audience but also entertain them.”
Produced by Director’s Kut Productions, the show presents an unusual and heart-tugging story of a girl, Neha Saxena, who meets with a near death accident at the age of 14 and slips into a coma for 12 years. She wakes up as a 26-year-old, only to realise that she has missed out on several important years of her life. For Neha, age is just a number as she wants to live life to the fullest.
Director’s Kut Production producer Rajan Shahi added, “This is a second show after ‘Kuch Toh Log Kahenge’ and I am looking forward to a good association. It is a very good and interesting concept and has a lot of entertainment factor.”
Smriti Kalra will portray the role of the lead protagonist Neha. The character of Aman Goel will be essayed by Anuj Sachdeva. The cast also includes Paritosh Sand, Amardeep Jha, Vidya Sinha, Mazhar Sayed and Kiran Bhargava.
