Sony Six acquires Rugby World Cup 2015 rights for India

MUMBAI: Multi Screen Media’s (MSM) Sony Six has been on an acquisition spree. After bagging La Liga, Serie A and FA Cup, the sportscaster has pocketed the rights to broadcast the Rugby World Cup 2015 in the Indian market.

Sony Six and Sony Kix will screen all 48 matches live, along with daily highlights of all the action from rugby’s showcase event. The participation for the sport has grown by 33 per cent per cent since 2011.

Rugby World Cup 2015 kicks off with hosts England versus Fiji at Twickenham on 18 September. The six-week event will be played in 13 iconic venues across the length and breadth of England and Cardiff, culminating in the final at Twickenham on 31 October.
