‘Satyamev Jayate’ to return on Star Plus on 2 March

MUMBAI: Aamir Khan will return with the second season of his ambitious TV project ‘Satyamev Jayate’ on 2 March at its original Sunday, 11 am slot on Star Plus.

This time, the season will be aired in three instalments. In March, Star Plus will air five episodes, while the remaining eight episodes will be aired in two different months in mid and end of the year.

Khan, known for his perfectionism, wants to create more awareness and due to the serious nature of the show, he wants it to spread across the year. The theme of second season is ‘Jinhe Desh Ki Fikr Hai’ (for those who have concern for the nation).

In the first season in 2012, Khan had highlighted social issues like female foeticide, child sexual abuse, dowry, medical malpractice, honour killing, insensitivity towards the physically disabled, domestic violence, overuse of pesticides, alcoholism, untouchability, plight of senior citizens and water crisis.

While Airtel has once again come on board as the title sponsor, the second season will be powered by Axis Bank. In the last season, Axis Bank was associate sponsor of the show.

The channel is in talks with more advertisers. In the last season, 80 per cent of the inventory was sold before the show was launched.

As of now, it is not clear if the show will be simulcast on all the Star India channels and Doordarshan, as it was the last time.
