‘Satyamev Jayate’ records aggregate reach of 129.6 mn

MUMBAI: The third season of Aamir Khan-anchored ‘Satymev Jayate’, which is inspiring people to believe that change is indeed possible, has opened on a positive note, with the show recording an aggregate reach of 129.6 million across India, as per data provided by Star Plus.

For the first time, a special live segment titled ‘Mumkin Hai’ was launched on Star Plus and ABP News, where Aamir Khan spoke to the nation through live dial-ins and social media platforms immediately after the main episode of the show.

‘Satyamev Jayate’ and the live show ‘Mumkin Hai’ received an aggregate reach of 129.6 million with the simulcast of the show on eight channels, and the simulcast of ‘Mumkin Hai’ on Star Plus and ABP News. The lead channel Star Plus accounted for 72 per cent of the overall viewership, claims the channel.

The first episode presented a take on the importance of sports in one’s life and witnessed discussions both offline and online, with responses also pouring in from personalities like Kiran Bedi, Naveen Jindal, Arvind Kejriwal and the sports minister Sarbananda Sonowal, sports icons like Sachin Tendulkar, Virat Kohli and Bollywood celebrities.

As per the channel, the show also had a record-breaking debut on the digital platform. The hashtag #LetsPlayIndia trended at number one worldwide on Twitter with nearly 1 lakh tweets coming in a day for the show.

In addition to Twitter, the show also occupied the top slot on Facebook in India on the day of the first episode. The show claims to have received 23 lakh missed calls of support for its ‘Mumkin Hai’ campaign, within 24 hours of airing the first episode of this season.

According to Star Plus, this season of ‘Satyamev Jayate’ has already crossed 2.5 billion potential impressions on digital. It was also seen immediately after the airing of the first episode as the ‘Satyamev Jayate’ Twitter handle became the second-fastest growing Twitter profile in the world.

‘Satyamev Jayate’ airs every Sunday at 11 am, followed by a 60-minute live show ‘Mumkin Hai’.
