Samsung is presenting sponsor for Star Sports’ broadcast of Premier League

MUMBAI: As the football season is on the horizon, Samsung India was announced as the presenting sponsor for the broadcast of the 26th season of the Premier League.

Star Sports will bring live matches to football fans in India on Star Sports Select and Star Sports Select HD.

The Premier League, which will take place from 12 August to 13 May 2018, will see Chelsea FC’s title defence on the opening day of the season.

Star Sports said that it has been at the forefront of delighting ardent Premier League fans in India, with live Premier League-specific shows during the 2016–17 season.

The 2017–18 season will witness first-of its kind television broadcast innovation through the Star Sports Select Add On service, aiming to offer a superior experience to fans. Fans will get a wider choice of live matches, tactical feeds and more match highlights to choose from this year’s Premier League broadcast.

The Star Sports select Add On service will be available on Tata Sky.

Football has witnessed strong viewership over the past decade. The following for the sport has seen increased penetration among the middle-tier audience, while the penetration among the premium audience remains consistent. Social chatter around Premier League has peaked over the past three years and also the number of official fan clubs in India.

Fans can catch the 2017–18 Premier League live on Star Sports Select and Star Sports Select HD, from 12 August onwards.
