SAB TV to present Sony Pal’s ‘Sinhasan Battisi’ with comic twist

MUMBAI: Multi Screen Media’s (MSM) comedy channel SAB TV is set to present sister channel Sony Pal’s historical mythological fantasy show ‘Sinhasan Battisi’ with a comic twist.

SAB will air the show as a comic adventure titled ‘Betaal Aur Sinhasan Battisi’. It will launch on 10 March, airing at 7:30 pm from Monday to Friday.

Betaal played by Sandeep Anand and Raja Bhoj played by Siddharth Arora will feature as the main protagonists of the show.

According to a source, the comic portions of ‘Betaal Aur Sinhasan Battisi’ will be shot separately and then integrated with the original storyline of ‘Sinhasan Battisi’ through editing, visual effects, and a background score.

The twist in the tale of Raja Bhoj’s struggle to possess the throne of Vikramaditya will come in the form of unreasonable challenges that Betaal throws at him. Betaal will use his wit and harmless deceit to ensure that the Sinhasan is not given to anyone by Mahamaya and the Putlees, thus protecting the throne from Raja Bhoj.

SAB TV senior EVP and business head Anooj Kapoor said, “SAB TV’s unique proposition has always been differentiation through innovation. ‘Betaal Aur Sinhasan Battisi’ is a wholesome family entertainer that showcases a comical dimension to the challenges faced by Raja Bhoj, courtesy of the ever-troublesome Betaal.”

A Creative Eye creation, the show is produced by Dheeraj Kumar and Zuby Kochhar.

Kumar said, “‘Betal Aur Sinhasan Battisi’ will surely tickle your bones while the historical, mythological, and fantasy story will take you to a world of creative dimension and magnificent visuals.”
