Rajeev Chandrasekhar’s Suvarna News scouts for news editor

MUMBAI: Rajeev Chandrasekhar’s Asianet News Network (ANN) is hunting for a news editor for its Kannada news channel Suvarna News.

“We are looking for a seasoned news editor who will take complete ownership of the editorial content, design and delivery in alignment with Suvarna News’ vision and strategy,” reads a newspaper ad issued by the Kannada news channel.

The news editor will be responsible for the delivery of content that will yield higher viewership, retain existing viewers, and be able to command best-in-class ratings and market share in its segment.

The candidate should have a degree/diploma in journalism/mass communication with 15+ years of editorial leadership experience, preferably in a broadcast news channel.

S/he should also possess an excellent understanding of the news space with an unbiased viewpoint and an impeccable record of integrity.

Apart from Suvarna News, ANN also owns and operates Malayalam news channel Asianet News, besides a Kannada newspaper called ‘Kannada Prabha’.

Vishweshwar Bhat is the editor-in-chief of Suvarna News and Kannada Prabha while MG Radhakrishnan is the editor of Asianet News.
