Paytm partners with Pepsi to launch IPL campaign
MUMBAI: Riding on the T20 fever, One97 Communications’ mobile commerce platform Paytm has partnered with the Indian Premier League’s (IPL) title sponsor Pepsi to launch its marketing campaign ‘Is T20 harr koi jeetega’.
As part of the campaign, Paytm will launch a mega shopping festival from 16 April for customers on its mobile marketplace. The platform will also offer up to 200 per cent cash back on mobile recharges and will give away shopping vouchers worth Rs two lakh. There is also a special chat session organised for lucky customers with cricketers Dinesh Karthik and Gautam Gambhir. The winner will be chosen through a lucky draw.
Further taking the consumer promotion forward, Paytm will also introduce several IPL merchandise on its mobile marketplace that includes IPL teams branded t-shirts, caps and more.
It has also launched a television commercial along with Pepsi featuring Bollywood actor Ranbir Kapoor. The TVC will be promoted during the IPL season across multiple TV channels as well as in various cinema chains.
Paytm CEO Vijay Shekhar Sharma said, “IPL has always been a cornucopia of brands attracting wide attention from cricket frenzied fans. This is the most apt time to connect with customers and strengthen brand recognition. We always ensure that we have something for every customer, so keeping this in mind we not only have offers for customers using our recharge and utility bills payment services, but also for those shopping through our marketplace. In India, cricket enjoys a cult status and we are confident that these initiatives during IPL will help us in engaging with more and more consumers directly.”
For the Paytm–Pepsi offer, consumers will be offered a free recharge of Rs 15 on their prepaid mobile recharge and postpaid mobile bills. The offer coupons will be available with all 1 litre and above Pepsi, Mirinda, Mountain Dew, 7up and Slice bottles as well as Kurkure ( Rs 30 plus packs, all flavours) and Lays packs ( Rs 35 packs, all flavours).
