MTV ties up with Ragini MMS 2 for ‘Haunted Weekends with Sunny Leone’

MUMBAI: Music and youth entertainment channel MTV India has brought back horror into its programming with a new show titled ‘Haunted Weekends with Sunny Leone’ as part of its association with the upcoming thriller Ragini MMS 2.

The show premiered on 8 March at 9 pm and was woven around fear and paranormal activities. Each episode of the bi-weekly show will see three girls being sent to haunted locations across the country for a night where they have to survive the ghostly experiences. The show will be hosted by Leone as the girls take on the journey. Manforce Condoms has been roped in as the presenting sponsor for the show.

Sunny Leone 1‘Haunted Weekends with Sunny Leone’ seems to be a new avatar of the channel’s show ‘MTV Girls Night Out’, which was launched in 2010. The show, hosted by VJ Rannvijay, saw three girls being taken to one haunted location every week and were left all alone for an entire night to brave the unknown.

MTV India head content and programming Vikas Gupta said, “At MTV, we have always strived to give our audience unique shows with unusual formats. With Haunted Weekends with Sunny Leone we bring to them a perfect blend of horror and reality presented by a gorgeous host. Sunny Leone enjoys a huge fan following and with the release of Ragini MMS 2 just around the corner, she fit the role of the host perfectly.”

The show is being supported by a marketing campaign on the digital platforms of MTV India. It asks viewers to follow the journey of the three girls as they survive chills and terrors of eerie houses this March.

Sunny Leone added, “It’s my first time hosting a show on Indian television and I’m glad that it’s something different and fun. I enjoy horror as a genre and Haunted Weekends is going to be full of great chills and thrills. My upcoming film Ragini MMS2 also belongs to same genre. It is something I enjoyed doing as an actor and love watching as an audience. I am sure my fans will have a great time while watching the show.”
