Life OK launches ‘Dare 2 Dance’ on 6 Sep
MUMBAI: Life OK is all set to foray into the dance reality space for the first time with the launch of its new dance-based adventure reality show ‘Dare 2 Dance’ on 6 September.
Hosted and mentored by Akshay Kumar, the show will air at 8:30 pm on weekends. ‘Dare 2 Dance’ will mix dance with some never-seen-before stunts.
The show is all about challenging the contestants to dance on unusual platforms like land, water and air. Kumar himself will perform some stunts in the show.
Life OK EVP and GM Ajit Thakur said, “At Life OK, we have always believed in being daring and bold. Ever since our launch, we have offered our viewers content that is very different from what’s offered on television today. ‘Dare 2 Dance’ is a big milestone for us in our journey to offer differentiated content. There are many firsts in ‘Dare 2 Dance’, which I can promise our viewers would have never seen before. And we couldn’t think of anyone better than the superhero of action and dance, Akshay Kumar, to have anchored this show.”
Kumar said, “What I like the most about the show is the fact that it puts the contestants out of their comfort zone and challenges them. I’ve been so excited about it, right from the word ‘go’, and it’s been an amazing experience.”
Shot in South Africa, ‘Dare 2 Dance’ will see 10 contestants, not just putting their dancing prowess to display, but also fighting their fears.
Produced by SOL, the show is choreographed by Sanjay Shetty and his team of professionals, while the stunts have been designed by stunt co-ordinator and performer Francois Grobbelaar, who has earlier worked on a number of Hollywood and Bollywood projects. One of the twists in the show is that there will be no elimination in every episode.
The 10 contestants include popular names from the field of entertainment like TV actresses Sayantani Ghosh, Alisha Singh, Scarlett Wilson from the movie ‘Shanghai’, TV actor Kunwar Amar, Mayuresh Wadkar, Sanam Johar and Ritwik Dhanjani, Emille Callion, a dancer from Paris, Karan Pangali, a dancer from the UK, and choreographer Prince.
The show has got on board two sponsors—Micromax as the presented-by sponsor and Honda the powered-by sponsor.
The pan-India marketing campaign covered mediums like print, outdoor and television.
