Kings XI Punjab renews title sponsorship deal with Tata Motors Prima

MUMBAI: Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Kings XI Punjab has renewed its title sponsorship deal with Tata Motors Prima for the upcoming season. The two parties had stitched a deal last year for the previous season.

Tata Motors executive director commercial vehicles Ravi Pisharody said, “Our TG is completely male. Cricket is a cost effective way to reach them. Tata Motors Prima is delighted to partner Kings XI Punjab for the second year in a row – one of the most exciting franchises with some of the finest records in the Indian Premier League. With the Tata Prima we bring the same passion and commitment to our customers as the Kings XI Punjab team with a star line up of some of the finest cricketers in the world. The colour of their jersey is the same colour as our truck. We wish ‘The Lions’ the very best for this season of IPL and hope to see them emerge as victors.”

Tata Motors senior VP commercial commercial vehicles business unit R Ramakrishnan said that cricket is watched and played by a large number of people, “With the IPL the matches take place at a time when people can watch. Therefore, the association with the Kings ZI Punjab IPL franchise is meaningful. Our association with the Kings XI Punjab has two goals. The first is to help with immediate sales. The second and moré important goal is for brand building. The company uses television for brand building. Print on the other hand is used more for tactical purposes like when we are running promotional schemes.”

Kings XI Punjab co-promoter, director Mohit Burman said, “We are pleased to extend our relationship with Tata Motors Prima as our title sponsor. The franchise would like to welcome them onboard for this season. This extension indeed testifies the faith the brand instills in the franchise and on the note we are geared to enter the season with the confidence to excel. With the team’s outstanding performance both on and off the field we are sure that this partnership will further prove to be mutually beneficial for both the brands.”

Kings XI Punjab co-promoter, chairperson Preiti Zinta said that the partnership with Tata Motors had proven to be lucky for the franchise. “We did well since they came onboard. We are looking forward to great games in the season. We look to partner with Tata Motors not just for this season but also for the future.”

Zinta also spoke about the franchises strategy of focussing on young players. “From year one we have nurtured young players. We started the kings Cup. We encouraged youngsters. Viru (franchises captain) has had a very, very positive impact. This year at the auction we picked two young players. There is a good synergy between young players and older players. We have good players, good support staff and above all great fans,” she said.
