‘Jane the Virgin’ is back on Romedy Now with season 2

MUMBAI: ‘Jane the Virgin’, the award-winning American romantic comedy-drama series, is back with its Season 2 on Romedy Now.

The channel will air the series from 21 July at 7 pm, Monday to Friday.

Jane the Virgin1Romedy Now is the first channel to bring this award-winning English series to India in a one hour comedy-drama format.

While Season 1 was exalted and critically acclaimed, Season 2 delves deeper into the emotions and complicated relationships of the protagonist, and promises a series of dramatic twists and turns that is expected to enthrall the audience.

Season 1 of the series ended with Jane Villanueva (Gina Rodriguez) delivering the baby amidst much emotional turmoil and dealing with differing opinions of her mother and grandmother. Adding to it is her latent confusion to stay with her boyfriend or marry the biological father of her child, who is already married. While Season 1 finale was a cliffhanger as Jane’s baby gets kidnapped, Season 2 kicks off with the investigation to find out who kidnapped baby Mateo and the thrilling drama of how Jane will find him.

The show stars Gina Rodrigues aka Jane; Justin Baldoni – Rafael, the biological father of baby Mateo; Brett Dier – Jane’s boyfriend in the show; Jamie Camil – Jane’s father and Andrea Navedo – Jane’s mother as the central characters.

With the power packed performances by the star cast, the series has won several awards since its premiere, notable among them being:
