Ind–Aus is top-rated Test series in BARC’s history, says Star
MUMBAI: Star India’s #TestofTheBest campaign for the India–Australia Test series delivered on its promise as the series emerged as the highest-rated Test series in the history of BARC India.
The four-match Test series delivered a total of 1.1 billion gross impressions with the third Test match alone recording 383 million. Notably, the viewership increased on a series-to-series basis, as India continued its dominance in Test cricket recording 10 wins in 13 tests.
In the shorter ODI and T20 formats, Star Sports communicated the proposition of exciting and unmissable action. Year 2017 for cricket started with a bang on Star Sports as the India–England ODI series became the highest-rated bilateral ODI series in the last five years. Further, viewership for both the ODI and the T20 format continued to grow with every match.
An official Star India spokesperson said, “The Indian cricket team continued their high levels of performance as they reclaimed the #1 Test team title, beating opponents like New Zealand, England, Bangladesh and Australia. With success across all the formats, the fans were delighted to witness such an action-packed home season of cricket with every session being exciting and unpredictable. For the advertisers, it reinforces the belief that nothing cuts across like cricket in India. At Star Sports, we understand the pulse of the fans, and that helped us carry out inspiring integrated marketing campaigns that made this home season a memorable one.”
India’s next challenge is to defend the ICC Champions Trophy 2017 in June. India begin their campaign against arch-rivals Pakistan on 4 June. Also, the ICC CT ’17 will be Virat Kohli’s first major ICC tournament as the captain of the Indian team.
This event will air on the Star Sports network.
