Hindi movie channels high on romance; premieres & special bands for V-Day

MUMBAI: This week spells romance for Hindi movie channels as they celebrate Valentine’s Day on 14 February. Keeping the occasion in mind, channels have designed a special line-up high on romance, premieres and special time bands.

Max has completely refreshed its line-up to bring to its viewers the latest flicks and romantic movies the entire week. Its week commences with ‘Kaho Na Pyaar Hai’, and is then followed by new movies like ‘The Dirty Picture’ at 1 pm on 12 February and ‘Kya Super Kool Hai Hum’ on 13 February.

Its Valentine Day celebrations include flicks like ‘Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak’, ‘Mujhse Dosti Karoge’, ‘Mohabbatein’, ‘Ye Jawaani Hai Deewani’ and ‘Aashiqui 2’ on 14 February. The channel will continue with its romantic band on 15 February as well with movies like ‘Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jaayenge’, ‘Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi’ and ‘Tere Naal Love Ho Gaya’, with the Max Television Premiere of ‘Shuddh Desi Romance’ at 9 pm and with a repeat the next day at 1 pm.

Star Gold takes its usual path with a balanced dose of action to match up to the romance. Its line-up this week includes ‘Daag’, ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’, ‘Deewar’, ‘Zameen’, ‘Gangajal’, ‘Badal’, ‘Na Tum Jaano Na Hum’, ‘Maine Dil Tujhko Diya’, ‘Son of Sardar’, etc.

However, its Sunday line-up will be a little different from other weeks, featuring two special bands Romantic Comedies in the 4:45 time slot airing ‘Bhagam Bhaag’ and a Super Salman band in the 8 pm slot airing ‘Garv’.

Its sister channel Movies OK too goes down the same route with a special band Kasme Vaade running through the week till Valentine’s Day airing romantic movies. Movies that will be showcased in the band include ‘Aashiqui’ on 10 Feb, ‘Shola Aur Shabnam’ on 11 Feb, ‘Tumse Acha Kaun Hai’ on 12 Feb, ‘Rehna Hai Tere Dil Main’ on 13 Feb and ‘Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahaani’ on 14 Feb.

Zee Cinema’s schedule for the week includes entertaining flicks like ‘Saajan’, ‘Mr India’, ‘Ek Vivah Aisa Bhi’, ‘Ramaiya Vastaviya’, ‘Teri Meri Kahaani’, ‘Hum Saath Saath Hai’ and ‘Hum Aapke Hai Kaun’ among others.

On the other hand, &pictures brings to viewers a fresh line-up of movies including ‘Shaadi Se Pehle’, ‘Joker’, ‘Money Hai Toh Honey Hai’, ‘Break Ke Baad’, ‘Love Aaj Kal’, ‘Peepli Live’, ‘Desi Boys’ and ‘Phata Poster Nikla Hero’.
