Hindi GEC slot analysis

MUMBAI: TelevisionPost.com presents you with an analysis of the different programming slots of Hindi general entertainment channels (GECs), as per TAM data (sourced from subscribers) for the Hindi-speaking markets for the week ended 15 March.

Fiction shows:

Mon–Fri 6 pm: Original airing of ‘Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon’ on Star Plus averaged at 2.7 million compared to 2.8 million in the previous week.

Mon–Fri 6:30 pm: Original airing of ‘Ek Ghar Banaunga’ on Star Plus averaged at 4.3 million (from 4.1 million).

Mon–Fri 7 pm: Star Plus’ ‘Saathiya’, the slot leader, increased its average from 10.9 million to 12.4 million. Zee TV’s ‘Ek Mutthi Aasmaan’ averaged at 3.1 million (last week it was 3 million), while ‘Sanskaar’ (Colors) remained stagnant at 1.6 million.

Mon–Fri 7:30 pm: Zee TV’s ‘Sapne Suhane Ladakpan Kay’ remained the slot leader, despite dropping from 6 million to 5.9 million. Colors’ ‘Sasural Simar Ka’ increased to 5.7 million (from 5.3 million), while ‘Saraswatichandra’ on Star Plus increased the average to 5.6 million (from 5 million).

Mon–Fri 8 pm: Zee TV’s ‘Jodha Akbar’ maintained its slot leadership position with an average viewership of 10.7 million (last week it was 10.8 million). Colors’ ‘Balika Vadhu’ remained stable at 5.6 million. Star Plus’ ‘Meri Bhabhi’ averaged at 5 million (4.9 million last week). SET’s ‘Main Na Bhulungi’ averaged at 1.4 million (from 1.3 million). ‘Mahadev’ on Life OK dropped to 2.6 million (from 3.2 million last week). ‘Baal Veer’ on SAB remained at 2.6 million.

Mon–Fri 8:30 pm: Slot leader ‘Tarak Mehta’ increased its average to 7.9 million from 6.8 million. ‘Mahabharata’ on Star Plus dropped to 6.3 million (from 6.7 million). The average viewership of Zee TV’s ‘Do Dil Bandhe Ek Dori Se’ dropped to 6 million from 6.3 million. ‘Madhubala’ (Colors) increased to 3.8 million (from 3.5 million), while SET’s ‘Ek Nayi Pehchan’ averaged at 1.9 million (1.7 million last week).

Mon–Fri 9:00 pm: While maintaining its slot leadership, Star Plus’ ‘Diya Aur Baati Hum’ dropped the average to 12.4 million (from 12.7 million). ‘Pavitra Rishta’ (Zee TV) dropped to 4.6 million (from 5.2 million). Colors’ ‘Beintehaan’ averaged at 4.1 million, up from 3.5 million, while ‘Chidiya Ghar’ on SAB averaged at 3.4 million (it was 3.5 million last week). ‘Desh Ki Beti Nandini’ on SET remained at 1.3 million.

Mon–Fri 9:30 pm: Though ‘Yeh Rishta’ (Star Plus) dropped the average to 8.4 million (from 8.8 million), it comfortably maintained its slot leadership. Zee TV’s ‘Qubool Hai’ also dropped to 5.8 million (from 6.1 million last week). ‘Rangrasiya’ (Colors) increased to 3.5 million (from 3.1 million). SET’s ‘Jee Le Zara’ was down at 1.4 million (1.6 million last week), whereas the average of ‘Jeanie Aur Juju’ on SAB remained at 2.0 million. Life Ok’s ‘Tumhari Pakhi’ increased to 3.8 million (from 3.4 million).

Mon–Fri 10 pm: Star Plus’ slot-leading ‘Pyar Ka Dard Hai’ dropped the average to 6.1 million (from 6.6 million). Zee TV’s ‘Aur Pyar Ho Gaya’ dropped to 4.8 million (from 5.2 million last week). Average viewership of Colors’ ‘Uttaran’ increased to 4 million from 3.8 million. SET’s ‘Maharana Pratap’ increased the average to 3.5 million (from 3.4 million) while ‘Lapataganj’ on SAB averaged at 2.1 million (2.2 million last week). Life Ok’s ‘Kaisa Yeh Ishq Hai’ averaged at 1.7 million (from 1.9 million).

Mon–Fri 10:30 pm: ‘Veera’ on Star Plus dropped and averaged at 6.2 million (from 6.8 million) and held on to its slot leadership position. Colors’ ‘Bani’ averaged at 3.9 million (from 3.4 million). Zee TV’s ‘Doli Armano Ki’ dropped the average to 3.2 million (from 3.6 million last week). ‘Bade Acchhe Lagte Hain’ (SET) averaged at 1.7 million (2.0 million last week). ‘FIR’ on SAB got an average of 1.9 million (2 million last week).

Weekend shows

Colors: ‘Comedy Nights with Kapil’ (Sun–Sat 10 pm) averaged at 7.7 million (it was 9.5 million in the previous week).

SET: ‘Boogie Woogie’ (Sat–Sun 8:30 pm) ran an average of 2 million (1.7 million last week), ‘CID’ (Fri–Sat 10 pm) 4.5 million (5.1 million last week), ‘Crime Patrol’ (Sat–Sun 11 pm) 3.7 million (3.5 million last week), ‘Adaalat’ (Sat–Sun 7:30 pm) 2.1 million (2 million last week), ‘Comedy Circus Ke Mahabali’ 1.4 million and ‘Bhoot Aaya’ (Sun 11 pm) 1.3 million.

Zee TV: ‘DID L’il Masters’ (Sat–Sun 9 pm) averaged at 8.6 million (from 8.8 million). ‘Fear Files’ (Sat–Sun 10:30 pm) put up an average of 3.6 million, while ‘Buddha’ (Sun 11:30 am) remained at an average of 0.6 million.

Star Plus: ‘Mad in India’ (Sun 9 pm) scored an average of 2.4 million while ‘Ishq Kills’ (Sun 10 pm) got 1.6 million.
