Colors to launch two new shows on 20 Sep
MUMBAI: Hindi GEC Colors has found a replacement show for ‘Sasural Simar Ka’. The channel will replace the older show with the new suspense drama ‘Ishq Mein Mar Jawan’, which will be aired from 20 September, at 7.30 pm, every Monday to Friday.
‘Ishq Mein Mar Jawan’ is produced by Beyond Dreams and features Arjun Bijlani and Aalisha Panwar in lead roles. The show, which has been shot in Shimla, is said to be based on the Sridevi film ‘Chaalbaaz’.
Panwar plays a double role while Bijlani portrays a grey character. The show also stars Arjun Aneja, Mihir Mishra and Tuhinaa Vohr. The stories revolve around the free-spirited Aarohi, who dreams of settling down with the man of her love. Her dreams are crushed when she is arrested as the primary suspect in a series of murders on the day of her wedding. The story takes a turn when she realises that the person she loved the most has set her up.
The channel is also revising the airing time of its one-hour show ‘Savitri Devi College and Hospital’ to half an hour. The show currently airs at 6.30 pm, Monday–Friday. From 20 September, the channel will air a new weekend show ‘Tu Aashiqui’ at 7 pm.
Conceptualised by Gurudev Bhalla productions, ‘Tu Aashiqui’ marks the return of popular actress Gauri Pradhan in the role of Pankti’s mother.
‘Tu Aashiqui’ is a teenage love story based on the film ‘Aashiqui’. It is the story of a middle-class girl named Pankti Sharma, played by Jannat Zubair Rahmani, who falls in love with a musician named Ritik, a character portrayed by Ahaan Dhanrajgir. Pankti’s mother tries to separate them by getting Pankti married to a rich guy.
