Balaji partners Anurag Kashyap’s Phantom Films for ‘Udta Punjab’

MUMBAI: ‘Udta Punjab’, which is produced by Anurag Kashyap’s Phantom Films and centres on the drug market of Punjab, has joined hands with Ekta Kapoor’s Balaji Telefilms.

Directed by Abhishek Chaubey, ‘Udta Punjab’ stars Shahid Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Kareena Kapoor Khan, and Punjabi superstar Daljit Dosanj, who will be making his Bollywood debut with this film.

“Balaji were partners with us on our very first Phantom production. It’s an emotional relationship and we’re delighted to be collaborating with them again on ‘Udta Punjab’. It’s a script, a director and a cast we’re very happy with, and we’re excited about the way it’s come together,” said Phantom Films co-owner Vikramditya Motwane.

Kapoor added, “’Udta Punjab’ is one film I’m most excited about. I’ve always admired the work Phantom does and collaborating with them on a project that boasts such fantastic talent is exciting.”
