Ashish Sehgal to head Zee Unimedia; Bhaskar Das to take up role of prez
MUMBAI: Ashish Sehgal will head Zee Unimedia Ltd, the new subsidiary of Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd (ZEEL). He will be responsible for driving sales opportunities across broadcasting, digital and print.
Bhaskar Das, who is currently Group CEO of Zee Media Corporation Ltd (ZMCL), will take up the role of president and chief growth and innovation officer of Zee Unimedia, the source added.
Das will be responsible for growing and evolving content, and creating opportunities to exploit niche brands within the portfolio of broadcasting.
For his new role, Das will report to Sehgal.
Sehgal will report to ZEEL MD and CEO Punit Goenka.
All the teams will get aligned across current sales organisations.
As reported earlier by TelrevisionPost.com, ZEEL is forming a separate company that will not only handle its ad sales but also that of its sister company ZMCL.
To start with, the new company will look after the ad sales of ZEEL’s digital and broadcasting business. The plan is to extend this model to the news channels and DNA, subject to approvals of the respective boards.
