Aamir Khan’s ‘PK’ top movie in U+R HSM
MUMBAI: Aamir Khan’s 2014 satirical fiction comedy ‘PK’ on Sony Wah was the top film in urban + rural Hindi-speaking market (HSM), according to BARC data for the week ended 21 July.
‘PK’, which has been shown several times before on television, mopped up 4.82 million impressions.
The world TV premiere of ‘Katamarayudu’ on Sony Max was the third-most-watched Hindi movie in urban + rural Hindi-speaking market (HSM). The movie recorded 4.23 million impressions, as per BARC India ratings for Week 29.
‘Katamarayudu’, the Hindi-dubbed version of a Telugu action film, was premiered on 8 July.
Apart from ‘Katamarayudu’, Sony Max’s two other films, Salman Khan’s ‘Sultan’ and ‘Son of Satyamurthy 2’, got mentioned on the chart.
Top Hindi movie channels in U+R HSM
With three films in the top 5, Sony Max stayed at the top of the chart in urban + rural HSM.
Sony Wah followed at the second spot while Star Gold climbed to the third spot. Zee Cinema remained at fourth. Rishtey Cineplex dropped to the fifth place.
Top Hindi movie channels in Urban HSM
In urban HSM, there was only one change: Star Gold moved up to the second spot, pushing Zee Cinema to the third.
Top movies in Urban HSM
Salman Khan’s ‘Sultan’ on Sony Max was the most-watched film in urban HSM. Zee Cinema entered the list at No. 4 with ‘Ramaiya Vastavaiya’.
Top Hindi movie channels in Rural HSM
Sony Wah continued to lead the chart in rural HSM. Rishtey Cineplex dropped to the third place even as Star Utsav Movies climbed to the second spot.
Zee Anmol Cinema fell to the fourth spot, whereas Sony Max stayed at No. 5.
Top movies in Rural HSM
Aamir Khan’s ‘PK’ on Sony Wah was the most-watched film in rural HSM. ‘Heropanti’ was at the third spot.
Three films aired on Rishtey Cineplex—‘Main Hoon Surya Singham 2’, ‘Stalin’ and ‘Mental’—were placed on second, fourth and fifth, respectively.
