YouTube FanFest with HP 2014 kickstarts its Asia-Pacific tour in Mumbai
MUMBAI: Online video network YouTube and Branded have announced the first ever edition of YouTube FanFest with HP in India. This will showcase entertainers who have used YouTube as a platform to gain a huge following.
Fresh from its Singapore inaugural edition in May 2013 which saw 18 acts and over 3.8 billion combined views, the YouTube FanFest with HP is now spreading to new territories that matter in the digital world across Asia.
Singapore and Sydney are pinned to the map for 2014, but it is Mumbai that will kickstart six months of events with more locations to be announced. The event takes place on 1 March in the suburb of Bandra.
YouTube FanFest with HP is an event where YouTubers and their followers can forge a tangible bond between each other. The digital video world steps out of their screens to join fans in the flesh in one single venue on 1 March. Fans’ favourite videos will come to life at FanFest: this day will be all about behind the scenes, exclusivity, touching the hall of fame and discovering new talents.
Branded CEO Jasper Donat said, “We’re thrilled to be able to take the YouTube FanFest around Asia Pacific in 2014 and where better than India to start the tour? This is a genuinely global platform that showcases some of India’s finest up and coming creative talent to the world, and let’s not forget Mumbai’s awesome fans!”.
Live-streamed on YouTube, the programme of YouTube FanFest with HP, is designed around live performances, interviews and personal meet-and-greet: a show to get engaged with the people that entertain people on a daily basis. YouTube experts will add an extra layer of comprehension by delivering insights, analysis and advice related to online video communities and their trends at the YouTube FanFest Academy.
YouTube Asia-Pacific head of YouTube partner marketing Marek Dawidowicz said, “YouTube is a global platform that brings together talent and creativity from different corners of the world. Through YouTube FanFest with HP, up-and-coming creators in India and other popular YouTubers from around the globe will have the unique opportunity to collaborate live from Mumbai. It makes us proud for YouTube to be used as a stage for this international mashup and we can’t wait to see these creators shine together”.
