Abhesh VermaSpeaking on the announcement, nexGTv COO Abhesh Verma said, “Murder, mystery, conspiracy, thrillers, these are genres that can never go out of style. They evoke a full spectrum of emotions from viewers and are therefore most sought after. Keeping this in mind, we have partnered Planet Vix to release their latest film Farzeen on nexGTV.”

Verma also stated that they are gradually becoming the most preferred platform for independent original series. The focus of nexGTv is shifting towards releasing more of original content of multiple genres from different producers instead of showcasing the already popular shows or programmes.

“The motive is to not just present our viewers around the world with the best of indie entertainment but also give new and talented producers a digital platform to showcase their original work without experiencing any financial pressure.

“Moreover, unlike a theatrical release, wherein the movie is accessible to audiences for only a short duration, releasing films on the digital medium means that the content is accessible for movie-lovers whenever they like and wherever they may be located,” he added.

The latest digital film is made available as a part of the paid packages on nexGTv and can be viewed seamlessly on its web and mobile platforms. The film can be accessed through www.nexgtv.com or the nexGTv mobile app, available on both Android and iOS platforms.

Planet Vix, the creator of ‘Farzeen’, has been associated with many Bollywood films like ‘Devdas’, ‘Bhoot’, ‘Aitraaz’, ‘Race’, ‘My Name is Khan’, as well as international Oscar-winning production ‘Slumdog Millionaire’.

nexGTv is planning to raise over $10 million to fund its expansion programme. The company will use the new capital to acquire content rights for different geographies, produce original content and acquire new customers.
