nexGTV app now available on Amazon’s Fire TV Stick
MUMBAI: Subscription-led video entertainment app nexGTv is now available on Amazon’s digital streaming device Fire TV Stick and can be downloaded from the Amazon India store.
nexGTv’s entire entertainment library, comprising 100+ live regional and national TV channels and around 500 movies, will be initially available for free on Fire TV Stick as a part of the launch offer. This includes original nexGTv programming like ‘It’s My City’, the popular webseries featuring Priyanka Chopra as herself, along with blockbuster movies, TV shows, and international web-based content.
Existing users can link their nexGTv accounts with the Amazon Fire app, and can also stream their preferred entertainment content on other Amazon devices such as Kindle, Fire TV and Fire Phone.
Said nexGTv COO Abhesh Verma, “Having captured a significant share of the Indian OTT entertainment market, we wanted to consolidate on the leadership position that nexGTv has achieved in the sector. Expanding our content outreach to smart TVs and similar large-screen offerings was therefore the next logical step. Partnering with Amazon Fire TV Stick as a featured app is an extremely promising entry point for nexGTv. We want to build on it by launching more big-screen apps in the near future and allow nexGTv users to stream our massive content catalogue on any digital device of their choice, conveniently and seamlessly.”
nexGTv has been showcased as a featured app in all product-related promotional material for the recently-launched device. The OTT platform is also planning to make it debut on smart TV by launching more apps for the big-screen in the near future.
With over 25 million downloads, nexGTv from Media Matrix Worldwide’s DigiVive is available across multiple devices. It has partnered with television channels such as B4U, 9X Jalwa, Tashan, B4U Music, M Tunes and 9XM Music to showcase entertainment content on its platform. It has also partnered with Culture Machine which allows access to various digital channels like Being Indian, Put Chutney, Blush, Epified, What’s Trending India, Whack, Old Delhi Films, Rascalas, Vendhar TV and more. Internationally, the platform has acquired digital telecast rights to UK-based Daehan Drama’s popular comedy web series ‘At the Counter’.
