Netflix hikes subscription fees in US, UK

MUMBAI: Internet TV network Netflix has raised its subscription prices in the US and the UK for the first time in two years. The standard plan will go from $9.99 to $10.99 per month and the premium plan will jump from $11.99 to $13.99 per month in the US.

The basic plan is still at $7.99.

The company said about the UK price hike, “”There is no change to our 1S basic plan price of £5.99 per month. Our 2S (watch on two screens at the same time, High Definition when available) and 4S memberships (watch on four screens at the same time, includes High Definition and Ultra High Definition when available) have been increased slightly: The 2S plan has increased 50p to £7.99 The 4S plan has increased £1 to £9.99.

“From time to time, Netflix plans and pricing are adjusted as we add more exclusive TV shows and movies, introduce new product features and improve the overall Netflix experience to help members find something great to watch even faster.”
