Muvizz.com unveils Singapore South Asian International film festival

MUMBAI: Muvizz.com, an OTT platform offering cult, classic and independent films to cinema lovers around the world, has come up with its very own film festival named Singapore South Asian International Film Festival (SGSAIFF).

It is devoted to a greater appreciation of South Asian cinema and culture by showcasing films, supporting emerging filmmakers and promoting the diverse perspectives of the South Asian Diaspora. The festival will be held from 1-9 September at various venues graced by the presence of various celebrities.

SGSAIFF showcases a combination of features, short films and documentaries under 2 sections – Competition (wherein titles from South Asia will compete for an award) and Showcase (wherein the best of south Asian cinema will be screened). Additionally, the festival will also offer a unique opportunity to learn about acting, film making and screen-writing along with knowledge sessions like panel discussions, master classes and other business networking sessions.

The festival will conclude with a cultural programme including some exciting stage performances, awards and music.

Said SGSAIFF chairman and co-founder of Muvizz.com Abhayanand Singh, “Singapore, being the gateway to Asia, only enhances the potential of the festival to emerge as the melting pot of diverse cultures using cinema as a medium. The festival serves as a unique opportunity for a cultural interaction between two major geographical regions- South Asia and the South East Asia.”

Muvizz.com has been backing innovative content films right from its inception. The platform recently gave backing to various projects such as the documentary on Late. Mr. Jagjit Singh, the remake of Albert Pinto ko Gussa Kyu Aata Hai, Alif etc.

The platform has produced short films like ‘Taandav’ and ‘Kriti’. A feature film titled ‘Bhonsle’ is in the process of being made.
