Mosti launches ‘Chhota Bheem’ tab for kids
MUMBAI: Mosti, a product line of Fusion Dynamics which manufactures electronic products for niche audiences, has launched a unique lifestyle product for kids called the ‘Chhota Bheem’ tab.
The tab is an Android-based kids tab created with the aim to keep children educated and entertained with premium and child-related content.
Kids aged three and above can use the features of the app, and it is engineered in a way that makes it easy to handle and difficult to damage, while also giving parents significant control over the content available to their children.
Fusion Dynamics CEO Prashant Vales said, “The focus of the company is to provide educational content on devices that will act as an aid to traditional education systems, which specific schools and organisations could also customise, or we could even develop in tandem with, to help young learners.”
The tab has content from Intellijoy, a leading content creator, and has pre-loaded applications from the Appu series, iStorybooks and ‘Chhota Bheem’. The device allows children to watch cartoons on the internet using an app called Kido’z TV. As they grow older, children can read digital books, view laboratory experiments and download additional content from the net.
Fusion Dynamics co-founder Lloyd Almeida said, “The digital learning space for little children in India is an untapped market and we saw great potential for a children’s tab after observing how children instinctively take to technology. Our aim was to build a device from the ground up, keeping in mind the target audience, rather than changing a few aspects of existing products in the market to make them children friendly.”
The tab has parental controls designed by Kido’z which enable parents to control and supervise their children’s online experience while still allowing children to download more content from the internet.
While being Wi-Fi-enabled, the device also comes with preinstalled story books, nursery rhymes, math puzzles, learning apps and other educational games.
The tab is named after popular cartoon superhero Chhota Bheem for its likeness in strength, intelligence and playfulness.
With its ability to withstand drops as high as five feet, the tab sports a ‘drop-tested’ design, with wide borders, rounded edges, large buttons and a recessed touch screen. It has rubberised bumpers on the back and edges which serve as protection from accidental bumps and shocks.
Mosti has also tied up with Child Rights and You (CRY), and will donate Rs 100 for every tab sold. The tab is available for purchase on the official store as well as amazon.in, firstcry.com, snapdeal.com and a number of other online retail stores.
