MobiKwik appoints Virender Bisht as chief technology officer
MUMBAI: India’s leading mobile wallet MobiKwik has appointed Virender Bisht as the chief technology officer for its business.
In his new role, Bisht will oversee all aspects of product research and development, user experience design and tech infrastructure.
MobiKwik founder and CEO Bipin Preet Singh said, “Bringing Virender on board is one of our many steps towards constantly enhancing the technology behind our product. With Virender’s background, we are certain that he will play a critical role in creating a robust engineering team and a culture of excellence at MobiKwik which will further reflect in our product. We are aggressively hiring and plan to double the strength of our technology team of android engineers, java engineers, server engineers, UI frontend engineers and UX designers.”

Prior to this role, Bisht was VP technology at Makemytrip.com.
He has over 14 years of experience in the payment and mobile domain, and has created world-class software products at MakeMyTrip, Educomp, Studyplaces.com, TribalFusion, Exponential and TCS.
He has worked with B2C and e-commerce companies in mobile apps, online payments, content management and enterprise software.
Bisht’s appointment comes as a part of MobiKwik’s steady wave of expansion. The 90 people wallet company plans to make other strategic appointments in the near future. It has announced plans to hire a chief marketing officer, head of business development & partnerships and head of products over the next 2-3 months. The key appointments in the organisation are designed to contribute significantly to MobiKwik’s growth story.
