ESPNcricinfo sees spike in traffic due to cricket World Cup
MUMBAI: ESPNcricinfo has said that during the cricket World Cup in India alone it witnessed a substantial increase over the previous tournament, with a rise of over 58 per cent in terms of daily unique visits and over 212 per cent compared to the ICC T20 World Cup over a year ago. Additionally, mobile as a platform emerged to be a key driver of growth with an increase of over 49 per cent in daily uniques from the 2011 World Cup.

Video, in particular, saw growth, with a 345 per cent increase in daily video views compared to the ICC Twenty 20 World Cup just a year ago. Globally, daily unique visitors on mobile platform increased by over 74 per cent than the last season of the tournament.
Compared to the 2011 World Cup tournament, ESPNcricinfo was up by 48 per cent in daily unique visitors globally across platforms. Specifically in India, the West Indies, Australia and the US, average daily unique visitors were up 58 per cent, 70 per cent, 31 per cent and 19 per cent, respectively, while it more than doubled (up 115 per cent) in New Zealand.
