BroadbandTV, BMG in strategic alliance to support music artists across all platforms
MUMBAI: Multi-platform network BroadbandTV (BBTV) and BMG, an integrated music publishing and recordings company, have announced an alliance designed to accelerate the careers of emerging music artists.
This joint venture, branded Windfall, is a model set for the digital age, providing an end-to-end solution to find, develop, and service artists across all platforms.
Artists will benefit from BMG’s expertise, spanning music publishing, rights management, promotion and distribution along with BBTV’s full suite of online video services and solutions including production, premium channel and fan uploaded content management, technology, distribution and monetisation.
BBTV gets billions of monthly views and its music network has grown by 62 per cent in the last quarter. BBTV operates two music networks on YouTube: Opposition, a hip-hop music network in the world with major artists such as Logic, Father and Yung Simmie; and WIMSIC which is a Electronic Dance Music (EDM) network backed by artists such as Major Lazer, Dillon Francis and Will Sparks.

Since September 2013, BBTV network views have grown by more than 430 per cent to over 5 billion and the number of partners on its network has more than tripled to 36,000, across a variety of verticals including gaming, music, lifestyle, entertainment, kids and family and news. Artists of Windfall will benefit from BBTV’s suite of technology including Viso Novi for rights management and VISO Catalyst, BBTV’s audience development platform.
