‘Bigg Boss 9’ premiere registers over 80k conversations on Twitter
MUMBAI: The premiere night of Colors’ big-ticket reality property ‘Bigg Boss 9’ has emerged as one of the biggest TV moments of the year on Twitter.
The show has registered over 80,000 conversations for the season premiere.
As Bigg Boss and Salman Khan fans waited in anticipation for the new season to kick-start, Twitter turned out to be the loudest platform for fans to express their excitement.
As per data from the social networking platform, conversations around #BB9 reached over 80,000 tweets on the day of the premiere episode, positioning ‘Bigg Boss 9’ as one of the biggest TV moments of the year on Twitter.
The Twitter conversation went up by 104 per cent this year, compared to last year’s premiere episode day.
Hours before the launch episode went on air at 9 pm on Colors, fans took to Twitter to talk about all the revelations that were in store.
As the contestant announcements rolled in, users tweeted their opinions about ‘jodis’, the show’s new #DoubleTrouble twist and about Salman Khan’s antics.
Khan’s tweet announcing the launch of season 9 was one of the most shared #BB9 tweets on the premiere day and was viewed over 250,000 times on Twitter.
At the start of the episode, the actor walked the contestants through the new #DoubleTrouble twist where contestants would be entering the house in pairs.
That is when Bigg Boss’s official Twitter account became popular with fans as the account live-tweeted throughout the 2.5-hour duration of the episode.
Minutes before entering the Bigg Boss house, the contestants too chose Twitter Mirror to dole out exclusive autographed photos of themselves for their fans.
The content published by Bigg Boss’ Twitter handle ranged from exclusive photos of the new, neon-coloured Bigg Boss house to performance pictures and selfies. Contestant accounts were also upfronted for fans to follow throughout the season.
